As far as I know it's not bad for you at all, as a matter of fact, I think it's really good for you. I wish I could aquire a taste for those things because all I ever see anymore is how good they are for you.
More power to you!

Some people have allergies to soy, but there's no reason to believe it's going to harm anyone who doesn't have an allergy.
None of that stuff the person who answered before me says is supported by real scientific data. The American Dietetic Association doesn't list any precautions or dangers in soy product for people who don't have allergies.
I suspect a lot of that misinformation about soy is propaganda created by companies that sell meat. I say that jokingly, but there are all sorts of ridiculous ideas about food out there. If it's not supported by the American Dietetic Association, I don't take it seriously. They are the organization that is recognized by the health care profession as the main authority on nutrition.
If soy feminizes men, how come it didn't happen to me after 23 years of vegetarianism and tons of soy products? That's just nonsense.

There are studies that go back and forth on this subject, but remember, too much of a good thing is never good. I love tofu too. If you are in the L.A. area, the tofu fest is the weekend of the 18th!

I have heard that soy has some kind of female hormone in it. I haven't heard of anyone getting sick from soy though. If it is replacing red meat, then you are on the right track.

soy is very healthy.
and it doesn't cause breast cancer, growth deficiencies, ect.
it has many healthy benefits, especially for women.
i 'm vegetarian, but i don't like tofu.
but, i eat it it anyways.
i usually just eat other things made out of soy though.
for example soy "chicken" nuggets.
they taste wayyy better then tofu in my opinion.

i dont eat tofu any more than like twice a year. it doesn't look like food, so i dont count it as food. i only have it if im out somewhere and have it for a treat once in a while. i dont use soy sauce either. and if i do have anything with soy, i would prefer it to be fermented soy.
soy consumption has been linked with retardation of growth in children, loss of virility in men, the suppression of certain sex hormones, loss of cognitive function in elderly people, increased risk of breast cancer in women. soy is also said to block the absorption of some trace elements and protein in general. there are studies directly linking tofu consumption to dementia.
soy is marketed to vegetarians and vegans, we are told its healthy but in reality they just want to make sales. food comes from the ground people, not in packets or cartons.

too much soy is really bad for you. i used to eat a lot of it and i started to get really bad headaches.
but the more natural it is the better it is for you like edamame. that's good, but when they over proccess it to make ice cream and meats it becomes bad. just like the processed with bleached flour and preservatives.
