that depends.. if you have been coughing a lot or a deep cough, you might have broken a blood vessel . If so it is usually a small amount.. Now if you are coughing up a lot of blood then you have a problem. either way I would check with your doctor to be sure everything is ok...

No. Coughing up blood is the signature of teberculosis and lung cancer. Both can be had for many years without someone knowing and are undetectible without a chest x-ray. I suggest you find a doctor soon.

It's not uncommon to cough up a tiny bit from your throat if it's really raw. However, if it's more than a drop or two, there's a problem. If you are coughing up any real amount of blood, get to your doctor or ER *now*!!!

If there is a small amount of blood or sputum streaked with blood, the spitting is considered mild hemoptysis. In 60% to 70% of mild hemoptysis cases, the underlying disorder is benign and disappears on its own without causing serious problems or permanent damage.

Not usually, unless you have coughed so much that you have torn the membranes in your throat and the blood is fresh form the throat. I would definitely call my doctor and have it checked out immediately.
