I'm planning on going on a 2 night camping trip with some of my friends ages ranging from 17-19 in California we are planning on bringing a good amount of beer and bud for the trip. My concern is the park ranger do u think he will cause any problems for us?

Yes...the drinking age in the US is 21. "Bud" is illegal in every state in the US (even the decriminalized ones). You can be cited and arrested.

I'm assuming that if you are bringing "a good amount of beer and bud", then you plan on getting drunk/high and that you will be car camping (who wants to put that much weight in your backpack?). If you are rowdy, you can be kicked out of the park/camping area.

Be considerate to others.

Also - "bud" is very...aromatic when burnt and one can smell it all over a campsite. Rangers have noses.

If there are more than 3 or 4 of you, you may as well hang a neon light over your campsite that advertises your acitivities.

Rangers are all over that - and being young, you probably won't think to pour the beer into non-transparent Solo cups (like the big 20 oz. red or blue ones at Smart & Final), and you'll probably forget to bring black trash bags to keep your empties in. You'll probably also end up leaving beer cans lying around on the picnic table and on the ground around your chairs. And, just to be sure, don't bring a radio at all. Ranger hears a radio, he thinks, "party!" That'll get you busted for sure.

I camped at a park where rangers used nightvision goggles to look for people who were possibly underage.

Have a great time!

PS... save the bud for backcountry hikes.... away from your site. Please avoid cliffs and steep hills on the hike. No one has wings, no matter how high you get.

You have a lot of problems here.
Underage drinking.
Even as an adult you might be subject to regulations in a state park.
When people get drunk they do stupid things, get hurt and cause problems for themselves and others.

You might want to reconsider the whole idea.
If I was camping and the site next me had underage drinkers who had a beer with their hamburger I would not mind.
But your behaviour may ruin the experience for your neighbors at the campsite.

Underage? DO NOT bring ANY amount of alcohol, no matter that is is "just" beer! Park Rangers are law enforcement officials!

Oh no, there wouldn't be any problem with park rangers. In fact, most rangers are really into nature and enjoy all that nature has to offer. There's nothing more natural that drinking beer and blazing off that bud. Offer the rangers a beer or a hit and you'll be an instant hit with them. They'll probably even call their friends to come enjoy it with you. Rangers are just cool like that.

You guys are going to have a great time. Need the number to a bailbond officer?

*edit*
Those with the thumbs down have no idea of what sarchasm is, do you?

You also got to remember if there are other people camping near by they can turn you in if your rowdy, noisy etc. Like someone said, park rangers can kick you out and you can be sited. So if you want to stay try to keep the noise down and be sneaky about the drinking.

hot box your tent, makes for a good sleep and have a fire going to cover up the chron

it depends how strict they are for alcohol.... last time i went i had cops and park rangers drive by my site while i was drinking (im 18) and they just waved and drove by

if anything just pour the beer into nalgene bottles and drink from there... they won't come around and search through your stuff i know that for sure

I don't know what do you think???? bunch of underage kids with alcohol not to mention illegal drugs hmmmm probably.

And you know you really ruin nature for those of us who enjoy it when you abuse it they way you are planning.
