A true vegan doesn't eat any thing that comes from an animal milk eggs and even honey. A vegetarian who eats fish/seafood is called a pescetarian.

There is a name for it..it's called an Omnivore. Vegetarians dont eat fish or seafood and vegans are even more strict because they dont use any animal products whatsoever (honey, milk etc)

There is a difference between Vegan and Vegetarian -- Vegetarian means that you don't eat meat. Vegan means that you don't eat meat or anything containing any animal products (i.e. you won't eat cheese because a cow was milked to produce it, or an egg because it is a pre-chicken.)

There are also different reasons for vegetarianism. If you are a vegetarian because you somehow believe that it is harmful to the animal to kill it and use it's products, then eating fish and shrimp are generally out, but you probably wouldn't ask.

If you are a vegetarian because you no longer want to eat meat for health reasons, occasional fish, shrimp and dairy products are just fine.

Are you a vegetarian or a vegan?
A Vegan doesn't consume any animal (including fish) or any dairy, eggs.... Or anything coming from an animal.
A Vegetarian does NOT consume fish at all.

I'm quite confused... are you saying you want to go vegan or vegetarian?

and no you're not vegetarian if you eat seafood. what would be the point to call yourself a vegetarian if you still eat meat (including seafood) were the fish and shrimp NOT alive once?

you're an omnivore, not a vegetarian.

are you planning on a home stay program? If not, then you can purchase fruits and vegetables and prepare your own meals. It's expensive over here so (bananas are cheap at Seiyu but other stores easily charge triple plus so hopefully you will live in an area where there's a Seiyu, Marusho, Queen's Isetan, Keio, fruit & veggie stall and walk around to compare prices) so be prepared to drop lots of moolah! sample menu traditional breakfast - rice, miso soup, eggs (over easy, scrambled, whatever), pickled whatever, natto (fermented beans) traditional lunch/dinner - rice, miso soup, choice of meat (beef or pork) or fish, stir fried vegetables, pickled vegetables dish suggestion nabe (pot) - soup stock or miso and vegetables

Not a "true" vegetarian. Many so called vegetarians do eat fish and seafood, but no meat or poultry. Vegetable broth is also used when making soups, etc., in place of chicken or beef broth.

No, someone can't be a vegetarian and still consume sea animals.
The name for a fish eater is an omnivore/ meat eater/ piscivore.
Good luck on your transition.

You know, somebody already asked this question today. And the answer is a resounding NO.

Vegetarians do not eat the flesh of any animal! And if I remember my high school biology correctly, fish are animals.

No, fish/seafood is still meat so if your a vegan fish and other seafoods shouldn't be apart of your eating habbit.
