Ben there, done that... I ALWAYS carry a small sandwich bag full of dry roasted almonds in my handbag. They are easy to eat anywhere, full of protein, fiber and antioxidants, delicious, and they stay fresh for weeks. Don't get stranded without a snack, you will just eat junk and then hate yourself. Baby carrots and dark chocolate are also good emergency rations, but they can't live in your handbag or briefcase the way almonds can.

Depends on where I'm at and what I'm in the mood for. If I'm tired of the food on campus I like to go to Herbivore or the organic juice cafe. There's a place here that has really good vegan pizza too. And if I'm in the city you can bet I'll be eating a vegan ice cream cake at Maggie Mudd which I'm totally obsessed with. There's also a to-die-for chinese place called Shangrila (I think) that I highly reccomend.

most fast food places offer some type of salad that would fit into your menu. and some have baked potatoes.

hit a pizza joint that has a salad bar w/ a to-go option.

don't know where you live, but here w/ have mcalisters deli, which has a great veggie pita, salads and monsterous baked potatoes.

subway does salads, wraps and sammies w/ veggies only. really good w/ their honey mustard! quizno's offers a veggie sammie, too.

and if you are tired of the bean burrito - try the seven layer burrito. it has no meat, either.

i agree with the third answer ^.6. when im with lots of fridns walking down the streets&stuff and we get hungry for some snacks...we stop at a liquor store//mini market and they buy a bag of chips, soda, and some candy and spend about $2-4 and iii buy an apple(about 35cents), a carrot, and a mango (pretty much anyy 2-3 fruits, or vegggies.)with a bottled water for about $1.50-2
SO much cheaper, healthier, filling and gives me tons of energy. i love being vegan<3 i never really worry about "being hungry and having nothing to eat on the street" ...there is always SOMETHING!!...

Just like other posters here, I always carry snacks. I usually have different kinds of nuts or dried fruit in my bag, tangarine and a banana. :)

Just stop into a real restaurant.
Or perhaps a grocery store.

I, too, always carry snacks with me--Nectar fruit and nut bars, Alpsnacks, etc. I sometimes have veggie jerky with me, too.
