fasting blood sugar should be between 80 -120mg% and 2 hrs after food should be 100-180mg% . the exact nos. may change, depending on the method used for estimating the sugar levels. the blood sugar levels after 12 hrs of complete fasting are to be checked, thats why most labs ask for early morning samples. and morning and evening levels are very different.

I agree with the the surveyor in 2 years for 3 Doctors giving 3 different versions.
The bottom line is that every individuals basic metabolism decides what his mean and maximum pp and fasting sugar should be like so it varies like from 80 (means it could even read 79 or 81 or 90) and 120 (likewise). So thats in a nutshell

Fasting Blood sugar could be around 70 - 110 mgs/dl. 2 hrs after food can go up to 80 - 160 mgs/dl. But it should not go more than 180. Sugar. In diabetic patients, before lunch, say, around1 p.m may be lesser than fasting, sometimes, thanks to medicines taken for diabetics. This leads to hypoglycemia.

if you are ddiabetic, you shouldn 't be fasting unless you have some medical reason that requires it. you need to talk to your physician about this. fasting isn't healthy no matter what people say, and if you are fasting for religious reasons, consider a new religion because old religious rules and traditions don't work with the reality of people's health in the modern world.
