Lacto-ovo vegetarians don't eat the flesh of dead animals or any death by-products (gelatin, rennet) but DO eat dairy and eggs.
Lacto vegetarians are the same, but without the eggs.
Vegans eat no animal products whatsoever, usually including honey. They also don't use or wear animal products.
No type of vegetarian eats the flesh of any dead member of the animal kingdom. This does, indeed, mean no fish despite what some people say.

Lacto-ovo vegetarian: No animal flesh, and nothing else made from dead animal bodies (no gelatin, etc.)
Lacto-vegetarian: See lacto-ovo, but no eggs
Ovo-vegetarian: See lacto-ovo, but no milk
Vegan/strict vegetarian: No animal flesh, and nothing at all derived from animals (no milk, no eggs, no honey, etc.)
Remember that fish and chicken are animals too; also remember that "no" means "no", not "a little".

Vegetarians do not eat meat, fish, poultry nor slaughter by-products.
Just the one type.
Vegans are "vegans" and not a type of vegetarian.
fishy and poultry eaters are nothing like.
phrases like demi/semi/pesci/flexi/pollo are just recent made up corruptions and not really types, they are just journeys end for label seakers.

Total Vegetarians eat only plant food. They do not eat any animal foods, including fish, eggs, dairy products, and honey.
Vegans not only omit all animal products from their diets, but they also eliminate them from the rest of their life. Vegans use nothing from animals, such as leather, wool, and silk.
Lacto-Vegetarians will include dairy products into their diet of plant food.
Lacto-Ovo-Vegetarians eat both eggs and dairy products.
Pesco-Vegetarians include fish into their diets.
Pollo-Vegetarians eat poultry, such as chicken, turkey, and duck.
