My bf turns 25 this month, I want to do something really special for him. We live in LA, so we've done the party scene...he has mentioned he would like to go to Legoland, so I was thinking about driving to SD and surprise him with Legoland and then when we return have his best friends waiting at our place with alcohol and cake/poker for a surprise 'mini' party.

That sounds good. There's also a huge variety of really good restaurants in the San Diego area that you can take him to after Legoland if you want to treat him to some good food afterwards.

Times like these are taken very seriously. First if your friend is 25 so you shouldn't take her to a fast food restraunt like MC Donald's! You should Make a Huge Surprise and have a family celebration.
In the morning take him to Leogoland. Then in the night u should take him to SD.
After that Celebration what you can don by your selves together is.Or you can Go out eating pizza watching movies and eating tons of ice cream together and walking around! Or you can just stay home eat cake give her a bunch of presents and Sit home lazy and have fun toghether.

You'll just need a cake and some snacks. mini pizzas, pigs in blankets, bacon wrapped mushrooms, cheese cubes, stuff you can eat with one hand while you play cards. And plenty of drinks and water.
