Here's an idea and maybe it's a stretch but it would seem to me that you can swim in a lake.

Seriously, have a Hawaiian party with belly dancing competition and a limbo contest. Decorate with bamboo torches and island colors.

Serve some authentic dishes from Hawaii. They have lots of fruit dishes that will last outside for quite awhile.

There should be some cool party lights as the decor. You know, like stringed lights, like Christmas lights, only they have a design on them... Or even just clear lights strung out all over the border of the pier or porch or whatever.

And you should cookout the food, burgers and dogs. Nothing like a good cookout at the lake.

And of course, music...whatever it is that 14 year olds listen to nowadays....

Have fun!!

you could set up a tiki lounge..i know at the party stores around here they have the tiki torches for like 2 or 3 bucks a piece and you could line an area with those and get other tiki decorations..get lights and baloons even do maybe limbo or something..then at the tiki bar have different flavors of smoothies..either the kids can make their own or have someone that makes them..get the cheap plastic leis and it should be fun..good luck!

Not sure if it's available at the lake that you are going too, but over here in MN we always rent platoons and then go swimming around the platoon. Volleyball at the beach, BBQ...perfect for her age group.

tie some ballons to surrounding trees.... if there isnt a picnic table then get a whole bunch of blankets to put on the beach and eat on them and have pizza and soda.... and just let them swim and bury themselves in the sand
i just had my 14th and that sounds really fun to me!
