your pulse is 72 and your blood pressure is 120/80? The reason I ask is that I am having some sharp pains in my upper right abdomen and upper right back....not feeling particularly gassy.....i do smoke....and i have had anxiety attacks before....also under an enormous amount of stress right now....not sure if i should go to the E/R needlessly....

Yes you could. Heart attacks or Myocardial Infarction (MI) is usually caused by an embolic (dislodged) or obstructing atherosclerotic plaque. Both of which cause your heart to receive less or no blood. It can present in various ways including your signs and symptoms. You could also be experiencing other things like pancreaitis or appendicitis or gallstones. They all present with Abdominal pain. You could also have a vasoconstricting type of chest pain~ prinzmetal angina which is relatively better in terms of prognosis as opposed to MI. An ECG, and some blood work (CK-MB, Trop I) can pick up MIs and they are quite senstive tests.
