they can also test for other things, when you go to the gum clinic you can choose which once you want, they are friendly and not harsh! it does not hurt just feels a little uncomfy, but it take less than 5min and is better to be checked out than pass it on, also dont be embarrast imagine how many peoples down belows they see each day!, also its always a nurse who is female for females and male for males.
dont panic and relax it will be over with a blink of an eye, i was glad i went i dont have an STD but it picked up thrush, which is a common bactira overgrowth

There are vast amounts of STDs in the world.
To check for HPV (humanpappoloma virus), they will do a "pap" smear, which is where they brush a bit of cells off of your cervix and check for abnormalities.
If you have herpes, or genital warts, they may diagnose it on sight, or take a tissue sample.
To test for syphilis or HIV, they'll take a blood sample.
