the grocery store, my pressure was 180/79. My blood pressure has always been perfect until now. I am 54. I am 20 pounds overweight and working on losing it. I drink alot of caffeinated soda - could this suddenly be affecting it? I have a doctor's appt. Tues. to get it checked out.

My husband is 57 and has heart disease. The 180 is very high but the 79 is good. They did tell my husband to cut out cokes and back off the caffine. If you aren't on medication now the Dr. will probably perscribe something to get it under control!!! Good Luck~~

cafien is bad they say. well that could be part of the problem but weight gain is bad for pressure. maybe that is not right sometimes they aren't the doctors is good one for measuring but if you get there and you are excited or uptight about somethign wait abit and then have it taken. sometimes just running the car fast can bring it up.
