The most that you can get from this is an eye infection or a cold (if he had a cold). It is VERY difficult to contract HIV (the virus that causes AIDS) by saliva especially that it had contact with outside of the body air 1st. That virus does not live once it's had contact with the air.

you are able to in simple terms contract HIV from somebody who has the virus, and contracting it via saliva is amazingly uncommon: slender-no danger it is going to likely be unfold. you probably did outstanding by using washing and putting alcohol on the chew, which might kill any micro organism that would have probable contaminated it. It does not sound like your buddy even broke the exterior, so which you will not get an infection or the different ailment from it. calm down.

No, you cannot contract viral diseases like AIDS through saliva. Blood contact..eg,like exchanging needles etc, vaginal or penial secretions are some ways you could contract viral STDs..am not a health prof. so there could be more to this list but I know for sure not saliva.
go to WEBmd(google it). They have alot of helpful info there.

You can't get AIDS from saliva. You can get tuberculosis from a person that has active tuberculosis disease. But not in your eye.
So, even though it was gross, you will be OK.

Worldwide and in the United States, most people become infected with HIV through unprotected sex, including vaginal, anal and oral sex, and through injection drug use. Certain body fluids including blood, pre-ejaculation, semen, and vaginal secretions, can spread HIV. An HIV infected woman can pass HIV to her baby through pregnancy, labor, or delivery, as well as through breast milk. HIV cannot be spread by casual contact such as hugging or shaking hands. According to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), contact with saliva, tears, or sweat has never resulted in HIV transmission.

Not HiV from saliva. Herpes, MAYBE. If he had a cold or flu or something like that, you'd be more suseptible to that.
HIV is spread thru direct contact with an infected person's blood or body tissue or semen. There's been no proof that saliva transmits it.

Although researchers have detected HIV in the saliva of infected individuals, no evidence exists that the virus is spread by contact with saliva

You can, but you would literally have to drink half a pint of saliva to contract it.
