It's probably too late for this year, but why not apply to be on the Staff of the camp next year? You can be there for the entire season and maybe even earn a few dollars at the same time.
In the mean time, what better way to enjoy the outdoors than to get outside a couple of days a week just camping or backpacking with a few friends closer to home yet in places that you've never been yet?

Hello Aaron:

What is it about camp that you miss? The great outdoors? The fellowship of your friends? Camping under the stars? Being away from home for a week? Communicate this with your family and see if you can work out a compromise. Can you earn money for camp? Can you do something to reduce the debt-load of the family so that another camp can be afforded? Can you go camping again with the troop, church group, or your family?
Keep on Scoutin'
