As others have said, snoring could be a symptom of obstructive sleep apnea. This causes the oxygen level in your blood to drop dangerously low and can damage your heart, lead to constant tiredness and more car accidents due to drowsiness. You should talk to your doctor about getting a sleep study done. This will show if you have sleep apnea and how severe it may be. Your doctor can then order treatment for it. Only a sleep study can diagnose this.

It depends on why you're snoring. You could have sinus/allergy problems. In that case, you'd probably need to take a daily allergy pill. You could have a deviated septum, in which case surgery would help. Or you could have sleep apnea, in which case you would need serious medical treatment. The best thing for you to do is talk to your doctor about your snoring. Once you find the true cause of it, you can eliminate it or at least tone it down.

I also had a bad snoring problem and would quit breathing numerous times during my sleep. My family told me this when we all stayed in a hotel suite at Disney World. I made an appointment with a sleep disorder clinic. You spend the night and they monitor your sleep patterns and breathing with equipment. I quit breathing 100 times between 9:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. I was prescribed a C-Pap machine which gives me continous oxygen during the night for sleep apnea. Sleep apnea left untreated can cause serious problems such as heart problems, fatigue and sudden death. You need to call and make an appointment with a sleep disorder clinic. If you don't have one in your town, get your local doctor to refer you to one. Good luck.
