My sister has respiratory problems....She uses a nebulizer, but nothing seems to work when she really has an "attack/spell"...the meds given in the hospital seems to really work better for her..perhaps it's the way they are given (i.v.) instead of "breathing" through the nebulizer. And another thing with breathing treatments in the hospital is that the air is "pushed" with pure Oxygen..and I think that makes a difference..because your Nebulizer doesn't use pure Oxygen.. Some Respiratory Therapist told her it was a good idea to use the distilled water in the nebulizer also...but the amount along with the albuterol or ipratropium or other, I don't recall..ask your doc. about that part...but with the distilled water she seems to have a better outcome.....Good Luck!!!!!

They are both forms of the same medication. What is your question? You know from experience that aminophylline can be inhaled and injected. It can also be ingested. So what are you asking? Was it the correct thing to do? Apparently, because you are still breathing.
