This only affects me when I have been sitting or lying down, so when I get up, I find it hard to walk, more likely I am limping very badly and usually one foot is worse than the other.

Most of the pain is round the ankle, and sometimes seams like cramp.

Dont know if my other problem has anything to do with recent problem, and work A few years ago was told that I have a slow heart, which is being monitored, and my job does involve a lot of walking about, usually 7hrs a day,and 5 days out of 7 days

It seems, your problem may not be heart related.Since you say your job involves a lot of walking, maybe you are tiring out your muscles, resulting in accumulation of lactic acid in the muscles. This acid requires time to dissapiate. In case you are not taking adequate rest muscles may have pain, swelling etc.So check up.Secondly arthritis/gout should also be investigated.Last but not the least, the heart could be also involved but from what I have gathered,in case of heart the pain is more in the "heal" of the foot and not the ankle. So also the pain is severe in the morning and gets reduced over a period of time i.e; 1 to 2 hrs.Better get yourself thoroughly examined by a physician.

You can take omega 3 fatty acid supplements. You should make sure you're doing the vegetarian thing right so you get all the right nutrients. Start exercising, doing rigorous aerobic exercise at least 2 times a week for at least a half hour each time. Exercise "cleanses" your blood. It will strengthen your heart muscle too. "Do not eat Shark, Swordfish, King Mackerel, or Tilefish because they contain high levels of mercury." Fish with shorter lifespans are supposed to have lower levels of mercury, like shrimp. A balanced vegetarian diet is heart healthy.

Walking is the number one exercise that is recommend for problem hearts, heart attack victims, and strokes.
Leg & feet problems are usually related to ciruclation of blood, low back/lumbra disc, varicuos viens, etc...
Really need to have check-up.

It could very well be heart or blood-pressure related: My Grandfather, for most of his life, had a similar heart problem. And toward the end of it he was confined to his scooter.

You might also check your back, and your joints.

Good luck!
