No such thing as a vegetarian woman! All women eat sausages made out of flesh at some point in their lives, even if it is only until they get married! lmao! Incidentally, the same applies to some men!

I agree. All brands are different. The only brands I know I've tried are the Morningstar Farms and Trader Joe's. I wasn't keen on the Trader Joe's, as the texture seemed soft and a little mushy. However, I put my veggie "meat" on the electric grill, so my cooking method may have had something to do with it. I do like the Morningstar Farms though. The taste and texture are good and I think that even my meat-eating husband would like them.
I may have tried the Boca ones, but I don't recall.
With my sausage, though, I make a vegan gravy of Smart Balance, whole wheat flour, a bit of sugar, water and a bit of soy milk for a sausage gravy thing. I ad a slice or two of whole wheat toast, and a veggie and I'm good.

I love veggie sausages! My dad's a meat-eater and he says he preferes the veggie ones... there was even a test done of loads of different sausages and the one that came out tops was vegan... meat eaters couldn't even tell the difference! Meat sausages tend to be really greasy and full of those lumps of fat but veggie ones are a lot lighter and healthier too.
Saying that, there are some nasty ones out there too so you should just try a few to find your favourite. Personally, I like Realeat or linda mcartney ones. I can't take spices at all so these are the best for me.

In Australia there are different brands of vege sausages you can try, so look at the ingredients on the packet to make sure there are no spices you don't like. It is the same with meat sausages these days, no more the plain beef or pork meat, you can buy spicy, curried, Thai, chili, kangaroo, chicken, lamb etc. etc., so try until you find one that suits your own personnel taste.

I am a vegetarian, but people think I am peculiar because I hate most vegetarian food. I tend therefore to eat most normal food, just without the meat and fish etc. However, Linda McCartneys sausages are one food that I do enjoy,e specially when I overcook them. In fact my favourite food is Linda McCartney's Chille Non Carne but I'm finding it hard to get these days. I detest quorn, but there is a product, minced beef type food by RealEat which tastes great. Use it a lot for sphagetti and shepherds pie. They brought out a chicken tasting one as well but it wasn't so good.

Vegetarian sausages vary a lot. Personally I love Aunt Bessie's Veggie Toad in the Hole. Try it the sausages are delicious. Well done for making the effort to be a veggie. I have been one for years now.

Veggie sausages all taste totally different, and if you don't like one brand there are many others!
Quorn sausages aren't spicy (although they aren't vegan) and you can get ones made from soya, tofu, vegetables, nuts.....
the word 'sausage' undermines the amount of variety there is ;)
But if you're used to meat sausages they are bound to taste weird at first anyway.

There's many different brands of vegetarian sausages. I prefer Quorn Bangers, but they do other flavours too. None are particularly spicy. Maybe you had Cauldron Lincolnshire sausages? You should try vegetarian hotdog sausages too, Tesco's do a good variety of own-brand vegetarian foods.

they all vary quite a lot. If you want to play away with the flavours you an buy yourself some sosmix which is just soya than you mix up a bit like packed stuffing i.e add water. then you can add whichever spices you like. They also are a basis for great sausage rolls and they have a burger mix in the range too.

I thought sausage was supposed to be spicy and like it that way but you might want to try a couple different brands. My favorite is Gimme Lean (found in the produce section) but if you don't like it spicy your best bet might be Morningstar Farms links or patties.
