Cut your grass (lawn) with a manual mower. Save money (they're cheaper than electric or gas), and produce no emissions.
Use solar-powered hot water tanks (stored on your roof, provides your house with hot water).
Bike to work/school, or use public transit.
Use those fluorescent lights vs. incandescent.

I would buy a tankless water heater, install solar shingles, use compact fluorescent lightbulb and if any of your apliances are more than 10 years old replace them with an enrgy star rated one. The most you can do is buy an energy star rated house and walk or bike or... anywhere thats within 5 miles if you can and when you need to use a car, use one that gets over 55 mpg. You can also use newer vertion of one theold manual lawn mowers. If you can car pooling is a good idea and !recycle, and reuse! unplug things like chargers and tvs when not in use.
if you want to go even one step further u can use all organic products, even blankets.
turn off the lights, tv, and computer when not in use. turn ur thermostat up in the summer and down in the winter. insulate and weatherize your home. plant trees and plants these are natural carbondioxide absorbers, avoid heavy packaging and buy local made and grown products. and insulate you basement and attic.
This all I, a thirteen year old boy, can think of.

first get the toxins out of your home, and don't be fooled by... all natural, organic, biodegradable and the such. Alot of products thatat first look GREEN arew not really green at all. And don't look at the price, just because it cost more or you got it at a health food store does not make it better or safer. My wife and I have found a company that manufactures safe, non-toxic products that actually cost less that the compairable products you would by at the local grocery, Walmart, Sams Costco ETC..

The tips given so far look good, but I have another- avoid eating out, especially fast food. It takes lots of energy for every one to go to restaurants both help and customers. Fast food uses more energy, all the packaging and most get food from far away.

Don't drive. - Drive a car uses gas which emits harmful carbon monoxide and other gas to dirty our air.
Don't turn on your lights. - Turning lights on uses electricity because it comes from a power plant that uses coal. The coal burning causes bad gas in the air.
