There is so much wasteful activity going on, for example, in Las Vegas, think of how much water and electricity they use and waste; film and television production waste; people who have disregard for the earth and those who share it simply because they feel they are entitled to do so. Doesn't that make you wonder why you have to make adjustments and changes while others continue to waste?

Not to mention the Billions of people in China, India, and many other places around the world that do not even know or care about this kind of stuff because they are too busy just trying to stay alive. The rest of the world is trying to catch up the western lifestyle and they are slowly becoming just as wasteful as we were when we started, the main difference is that they have WAAAY more people. Reducing your car's emissions won't make any difference when compared to how many new factories are being built without enviromental controls in developing countries like we have in the US.

Well , we have dire problems with water shortages over here ...
When the problem first became severe enough that the authorities had to take action , the home owners were the first to feel it !

Now they are tightening the screws on all aspects of life , especially business ...it turns out that business uses far more water than home owners !

So the lesson here is that it is not until there is a crisis that the Politicians & Beaurocrats get off their backsides & really look for solutions !

You view of waist is not that of another. To me you spending time on your lap top surfing the net is a waist of 1. electricity 2. The plastics used to make the computer 3. The metals used to make the computer 4. the optical cable to transmit the info. 5. Once again the power to run it all. Green living is a joke, put out by hypocrites like gore and company. while they are eager to tell you how to change YOUR life, they live there's indifferent to what they preach.

This is wierd...it seems the biggest polluters in the world want us to turn green. I have a feeling that ExxonMobile or BP is going to attemp to take over the alternative fuel business.
They know they will run out of business soon; so if they want to keep making thousands of dollars a second like they are now, then they need to buy all the new technologies so they can have a monopoly on them in the future. Then they can make us pay for using sunlight or wind to power our homes. It makes perfect sense.

you've got to start somewhere, if every body feels the same then we'll never do it until it's too late and there is nothing left.
if enough people show that they care then the "big bussinesses will fall in line.in fact many international corporations are already doing so. if no one tell them, how can they know, if no one leads who will follow???
otherwise it'll be the story of somebody, anybody, everybody and nobody. and it goes like this:somebody was surposed to do something and anybody could , so nobody did. then everybody got in trouble.would you let everybody suffer just because anybody could do it, but no body did???
God bless,
gabe

you should make small changes like turning off a light when you leave a room since you DO NOT NEED IT. that is the kind of change you should make. Not HUGE changes like recycle everything and live in a tent so you dont waste electricity. Just SMALL changes.

I understand what you're saying, but just like JFK said, "ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country." Just because another entity is being overly wasteful doesn't justify your own wastefulness.
