I think cravings can be more than just a craving for a particular food. It might be more that you miss the memories of eating a particular food, and were used to eating certain things. Your brain can play tricks on you.

I only crave it when I'm really hungry and someone's cooking something with meat or I see a commericial with something tasty in it. I've only been vegan for a few months though and before then I was omnivore so I'm guessing the feeling will just go away. My problem is that sometimes, when I look at like a piece of chicken, fish, etc., I don't realize that it used to be an animal. Maybe some meat eaters feel that way too. They just don't see the connection between a living cow and a steak.

I used to. I would cave a lot, being vegetarian a couple months, then going back to being an omni. This is what occurred for around a year and a half. However, I have been vegan for nearly a year. I no longer crave meat, dairy, or eggs.
I think it's a matter of getting rid of all animal products in your body. While you're still eating eggs and dairy, you may still crave meat because it has the same kind of protein content. However, if you stop eating the foods altogether, the cravings might go away. It worked for me.

For quite awhile I'd get cravings whenever I got within smelling distance from a KFC, but eventually realized it wasn't the chicken I desired but the seasonings.
Can't really say I have cravings, but still have an occasional dream that I eat meat (usually by accident or by being tricked into it) & am sooo relieved when I wake up.

I've been vegetarian for 17 years and these are my only two problems
The smell of fried chicken still smells very good to me.
Sometimes when I think of a tuna fish sandwich with lots of miracle whip, I crave one. Used to be my favorite sandwich before I went vegetarian.
But all in all, I don't have a problem being faithful to my vegetarianism. I just shrug those things off, and enjoy my lifestyle choices!

Honestly, no.
The one meat I ever missed when I went vegetarian was chicken. Mostly because my favorite food was chicken noodle soup and I was sad that I couldn't have it anymore. But then when I discovered Amy's No-Chicken Noodle Soup, that pretty much ended the cravings.

I honestly thought I would, but I really, truly haven't craved meat at all.
In fact, this evening I saw a KFC commercial and had this flashback to biting into a piece of chicken and having grease squirt in my mouth and it seriously made me ill.

Every blue moon the smell of it will but when I get to the kitchen and look in the pan the craving quickly vanishes and I kind of feel sick. Meat reminds me personally of road kill.

Its the smell that most of the time makes you crave something, but if your body is not getting enough protein you will crave meat. the best way to fight it is to eat peanut butter.
