An anxiety attack are caused by the bodies 'fight or flight' response. This instinct was programmed into us from the beginning and its our bodies way of dealing with danger. Our body floods with adrenalin in preparation for either a fight or to run away (flight). The body however cant distinguish between a emotional or a physical threat so when we are worried about something or anxious the adrenalin floods through as it would a physical attack. During a physical attack the adrenalin produced gets used up but when its an emotional threat the adrenalin stays put and causes all kinds of awful physical symptoms. I had them for a while and was surprised just how powerful they were. The best way to deal with them is to eat or drink something sweet, this helps the body get rid of the adrenalin. If the attacks continue its worth seeing your doctor, there are pills he can give you to help. If you arent worried about anything then its still worth going because sometimes illness can set theses attacks off and are a warning sign. Think carefully, is there something thats worrying you which you arent dealing with? If you deal with the problem causing the worry the attacks should stop. Good luck x

i'm not sure what causes them exactly either a chemical imbalance or maybe there is something bothering you panic attacks for example ( can feel like the feeling you get when a car pulls out in front of you and you think your gonna collide where your face gets hot and cold your heart races .or you have this worried feeling that want go away and there is nothing that your worried about .and you you cant relax or you may feel uneasy or paronoid like something bad is gonna happen and all these feelings come over you for no reason and come in waves .if they become botersome you may want to see a doctor and try an anxiety medication ......good luck

It's normal to feel anxious or worried at times. Everyone does. In fact, a moderate amount of anxiety can be good. It helps you respond appropriately to real danger, and it can help motivate you to excel at work and at home.

But if you often feel anxious without reason and your worries disrupt your daily life, you may have generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). Generalized anxiety disorder causes excessive or unrealistic anxiety and worry about life circumstances, usually without a readily identifiable cause.

The term for persistent anxiety that affects your day-to-day life is "anxiety disorder." Along with phobias, panic attacks and obsessive-compulsive disorder, generalized anxiety disorder is among the most common anxiety disorders. Women are more likely than men are to experience generalized anxiety disorder.

Living with generalized anxiety disorder can be difficult, but treatment is available. Medications and professional counseling or therapy can help you cope with the effects of generalized anxiety disorder.

A lot of us suffer from these. I understand your concern and pain. Believe me I do. They are no fun.
