If Dad makes it - His steaks fresh off the grill or his amazing special Steve Burgers.
If Mom makes it - corned beef and cabbage with carrots. She slow cooks it for about 8 hours and it is so tender the meat just flakes apart.
If my husband is cooking - the nearest delivery place while the smoke clears from the kitchen

A grill cooked, thick Porterhouse steak cooked ALMOST well done, but with a touch of a pale pink at the smallest part of the center....smothered in Mushroom sauce with huge mushrooms in it.
A baked potato with chili, cheese, butter, sour cream, mushroom gravy, salt and pepper and broccoli (cooked till just soft).
Caesar salad with extra parmesean cheese, oil and vinegar.
Hummus mixed with baba ganoush on the side with aged mozarella sticks to dip in it.
For dessert, Godiva chocolate cheesecake
Drink: Starbucks pomegranate iced smoothie.
After dinner drink: Vanilla coffee to have with the cheesecake.
----I'd never eat all of those things in one meal, and I don't have time to cook them at home myself, but that's my ideal meal if I ever did have the time and didn't have to worry about my waist line....lol

Homemade chicken noodle soup, made from a scratch. It takes forever to get good stock and it's a project to make fresh pasta, but nothing beats the taste of fresh homemade soup.
I wouldn't turn done a soup made using shortcuts, but there's something magical about a totally-homemade soup
