I am absolutely terrified and I feel so alone. I just found out last week that I tested positive for hsv1 and 2. I have been with the same man for the past 10 years and within the last year found out that he has cheated on me with numerous women. I am so scared that I can give it to my children by kissing them and them eating with me...I feel like my whole life has changed. And even though the nurses, my doctor, and websites say that a lot of people have it I still feel like I am by myself. My self esteem has dropped and I feel like I have been used up. But now, My life is very happy.

there is a chance that it could be a reaction from swimming. have you swam there before? any similar itching or reaction? your best bet would be to see a doctor.
and a bit of info. the bumps you see are not on your vagina. you cannot see your vagina on the outside. that would be your vuvla and the opening to your vaginal canal:)

Well I dont know if you have them there but in the south we have red bugs and they are JUST like that....they like to get in tight places (i.e. bathing suit bottoms....bra strap...etc.) did you lean against a tree or sit on a log?....that is what it sounds like to me....they burn and itch like fire!!! You can get a high powered flash light and have someone look really close and if there looks like a little orange thing in the bump its a red bug.....we also call them chiggers. you can put clorox in your bath water and kill them that way... or put clear finger nail polish on them....if you go to the DR he can tell you and may give you a cream to put on it to help sooth the itching and burning!! I hope this helps and that all it is, is a bug bite!! becareful if you think you may have an std use protection every time!

Herpes are not spread by swimming, it is contracted through skin-to-skin contact. The best thing to do is see a doctor.

Have you had unprotected sex? It may be an STD. It's possible it has something to do with swimming on the lake...but I doubt it. Go to the doctor immediately.

It could be herpes but also could be a bacterial infection. You should go and have a test done though. Please don't take any chances with this, go to the doctor today.

if you have indulged in intercourse in the past month, it is probably herpes. Suggest you see a doctor asap, he needs to see the sores to diagnose you properly, and give you the treatment you need.
