You will find the same issues in almost every section. In a pretty much unmoderated forum, it's going to happen.

I agree and as someone else put it they are not removing any of the inapropriate content being reported. I personally don't think they need to visit this forum if they aren't vegetarians, have no interest in being vegetarian, or don't need advice on vegetarian diets. It's common sense. Why would you go in the alcoholic beverage section if you don't drink? Why go in the religious section if you are not religious? It makes no sense what so ever but for some reason people feel they are obligated to "defend" their diet. It's immature and they are acting irresponsible when it comes to other peoples diets because they are spreading misconceptions. Not that everyone who eats meat does it because some people are just looking for vegetarian meals for family members but the majority of the ones in this forum do. My best advice is to report them, ignore them, and block them.

I have been a vegetarian most of my life and have seen the best and the worst. All I can say is live and let live. I am not a pure vegetarian in the sense that I use milk, butter and cheese. My attitude here is that they are products that are available without denying the source the right to life. Other than that, if it defecates I do not eat it. Some bright spark may know of an anomaly but I have not come across it in my lifetime. My ex and my son eat meat. My daughter turned about 3 years ago, just as well, as I look after her now and we take great delight in inventing new ways of prepping our meals and her snacks for school.
I go get really ticked off when people make silly remarks regarding bestiality and cruelty to animals and have to restrain myself but on the whole it appears to be a few individuals that are merely up to mischief. I am "over them" now.

yea i agree i used to come here unique recipes, and teen vegetarian recipes. now it's meat eaters asking the most stupidest question:
"CAn u eat animal crackers?" thats the stupidest question. I don't care who thinks who is morally superior. I have friends who a vegetarian and friends who aren't. whe don't fight each other were all really good friends. just cuz someones differen't is no reason for us to bash eachother.
peace, love, music

I know, I'm annoyed that everyday someone new asks Why Become Vegetarian, and other similar questions. They just incite bashing. Also, anyone with that question could just go look at the Resolved questions, since there are about a thousand already answered.

I hear ya. But the Religion and Spirituality section appears to be a bit of a fight between believers and nonbelievers.
As someone else said, keep eating the way you feel is best and try not to roll your eyes too hard when another dingbat asks about the plants or what about chicken/fish or what about protein. I wish we could have a big disclaimer at the beginning of the section telling people that these idiotic questions have been answered umpteen times. But I suspect people do it to annoy us.

People really do seem to have a problem being able to live and let live. I would never run around (the internet or the real world) spouting my beliefs and trying to shove my way of life down people's throats like the meaty trolls do.
And the weird thing is, a large portion of the veg-bashing on here is directed to the notion that we are the ones harassing them and trying to force our beliefs on them. I wish we could just enjoy each other's company while they go off somewhere else and sulk.

Crikey, when did you "used to like this site" ?
We've had trolls in here for way over a year.
But i do prefer the previous trolls, they had wit and were entertaining. The current batch just seem to know how to insult, very boring and predictible and lacking imagination.
Come back Foxy, where did you go ?
I agree with Al, "block them". Yahoo pay more attention to user blocks than to abuse reports, it gives them a better "trend" to show someone is a troll. The more of us that block, the sooner they get banned (and then return the following day with a new account ! but hey, thats life )
