Take some slices of white and wheat bread. Cut the crusts off. Take a rolling pin or use your fingers to flatten out the bread. Spread a thin layer of peanut butter and jelly then roll like a jelly roll. Cut into bite sized pieces. They are soft and yummy. Just be sure to check about peanut allergies.

If they have only a few teeth I would do soft foods or something they can all gnaw on like chicken nuggets or if you are veg then Morningstar "chiken" nuggets. Cut up into toddler bite size pieces.

Soft fruits such as strawberries or well, just about any berries but Moms and Dads will have to be right there to help keep the mess at bay.

Banana

Zwieback 'cookies' down the baby food isle or any of the baby food crackers or cookies...

Mostly soft foods that are hand size and bite size.

Toddlers like to be entertained, so the food has to look appealing. Chicken finger/ stars always works, Have something that the kids can get involved in. Use celery, peanut butter and rasins. Explain that the celery is a log, the peanut butter is mud and the rasins are little ants walking throught he mud, across the log. Make cookies; cut them into fun shapes. Veggie tray, cheese and crackers, strawberries dipped in chocolate, etc. Make sure the items are fun and enjoyable.

Children that young don't need appetizers. It will mess up their feeding time. Most parents will provide the food for their babies. I would ask the parents of the toddlers, what they would request that I serve. Some children have allergies, might be teething, have a special thing they like. It's best to ask.

My kids used to love ants on a log. take celery, spread with peanut butter and sprinkle with raisins. also they loved strawberry "mice" (make sure no nut allergies) take whole strawberries and make "ears" with almonds, a tail with red licorice and a face with piped frosting. They are so cute and a good healthy snack.
