My husband smokes pot with is old high school buddies every now and then..well there's only one guy who is just always stoned..he's got STD's and his girlfriend as well, because he tells my husband what he has when they have their buddy talks. Well my husband smokes out of their pipes when he's there. He doesnt have one because he only does it once in awhile. Should he go get checked for STD's given through the pipe they smoke out of? I dont' know all the std's they have, just of one..chlamydia. But the friend's gf is a Cr@ck head and sleeps with a bunch of guys besides her bf. So I'm really scared, and I won't let him kiss me.

first of all he should stop smoking pot with his old buddies.
pot only leads to trouble.
i agree with the first answer, you both should be tested...not for curiosity's sake or for your paranoia but because everyone should. and he can get herpes simplex b, i think, by sharing pipes or touching something, say....his buddy rubs his lips, wipes it off on his pants then gets the lighter to burn, the your husband uses the lighter. there you go. and futhremore, this is way out of control...if he rubs his hand on his shirt, then you go to wash his shirt and touch the spot where the virus was and then touch your mouth, eye, or something you've got it too!
but that's a little crazy.

There are few stds that would be transferrable this way, but there are some. In particular Hepatitis B is easily transferred with things that are shared orally, like drinking glasses, so a pipe in this case would also be a risk for that. It is possible but unlikely to transfer chlamydia, gonnorhea, and Herpes 1 and 2 this way but only if the pipe is still wet from the other guy when your husband uses it.

If I am correct, STD are transmitted through sexual contact. It might be a good idea for him to get check, just for names sake. But unless they both have/had cut in or around their mouth, he he be fine. Dont worry about the kissing. But let him know that it would make you feel better if he got tested. Maybe you guys can do it together.
