Are you assuming that all vegetarians used to eat meat, decided to quit and now miss something? Like an addict?

Stereotypes can be wrong.

Well I never ever tasted any meat so would not know. Similar to someone who never smoked or never used drugs would not know the feeling. Actually I feel sick at the even the thought of eating an animal.

Once in a while I really miss steak, and beef stew. But as others have mentioned, there are lots of great veggie subsitutes out there. And when I do "crave" meat, it doesn't last long because then i think about what it really is -- the charred flesh of an animal that was tortured and killed -- and the appeal is gone.

You assume that vegetarians all grew up eating meat and later converted. That would be wrong.

I am a convert, but actually, I don't miss any meat foods... hm... let me think... not for taste or flavour... just memories of events or hanging out with friends etc.... memories easily replaced by other food.

So, I don't miss any.

i'm with majnun99 on this one.

none. i don't miss any meat products, although i've been veggie for 27 years i remember i felt this way the day i became veggie - never had any feeling that i'm "missing" something.

if i ever want anything like a meat pie in gravy, bacon, sausage, ham etc... its easy to find something veggie that occupies the same space on the plate.

I'm running out of foods to miss because there are so many delicious veggie versions around. Salmon, I suppose. I don't actively miss it, but I remember it was tasty, and I've never heard of a good veggie "salmon" yet!

I don't really feel like i'm missing anything, maybe crab cakes just because they were yummy, but there are good vegetarian ones.
But i definitely don't regret my choice to become vegetarian, I'm very glad i did.

None of it. When I walk by the meat isle in the grocery store I gag and smelling meat just makes me sick.
