not wanting to sponsor or be responsible for the commercial meat industries treatment of animals. Some meat-eaters are in denial over what they pay for.
My trigger was a tour ( when i was 14 ) of a pig farm. It was the flagship farm with the highest standard of animal welfare, thats why we were being shown it, to try to show people how "good" farming was to animals. If that was the best the world had to offer, then i was outta there. That was 27 years ago and never looked back
We don't need meat to live a healthy life and enjoy food, so why kill animals to do so ?
Whats a "vegertain" ? not a flipent comment, i would like to know if its a word as you used it twice so i'm guessing its not a typo

I don't like the idea of killing animals.
I wanted to be vegetarian since childhood, but my mother insisted I eat meat because she said you have to in order to get decent nutrition.
When I became an adult, and found out that wasn't true, I became a vegetarian.
No bad reflection on my mother, who is no longer living; I'm sure she had good intentions.
Don't worry about what your friends say, do what you think is right for you.

Vegan (although I do not like the word, I prefer "human").
I became vegan for athletic performance; specifically bicycle racing.
Later I learnt of other benefits besides personal health.

I am vegan because I don't want to contribute to industries that torture billions of animals, destroy the environment, and mislead the public. I know I can't stop it, but I don't have to pay for it or participate in it.

I was a vegetarian my whole life because of my family's religion. Veganism was something that always appealed to me but it was hard to do where I lived, so when I moved to Berkeley I decided to go for it since it is incredibly easy here. Haven't looked back.

hi,
don't know what is your reasons would like to know. but here is mine.....the killing of animals, thou shall not kill, i am not religious, but it makes sense, why kill? who are we to take a living animals life? now a days we don't need to kill, you can live of fruits plants and breads, etc etc, i know that plants and fruits and everything we eat has life in it but i don't know animals are different, they have feelings, and they suffer.
who ever eats or kills animals, think about it, you are eating dead flesh, and who knows? when you die, you will have a long line of animals waiting for you in heaven or hell!!!!!! just waiting to ask you why? and if was it worth it....
