My son had it some weeks in the past (at approximately 4 months). He had that alongside with a double ear an infection. The usually used practitioner additionally had him on prednisone and a nepulizer. He went decrease back for a checkup some days later and the usually used practitioner pronounced he replaced into nevertheless respiratory speedy so sent him for a chest xray which replaced into sparkling. The ear an infection additionally did not completly sparkling so he have been given a sparkling antibiotic for that. he's now effective, little cough on occasion, however the usually used practitioner pronounced which could linger for awhile. His pediatrician is amazingly careful, replaced into calling everynight and typical element interior the morning. be sure you're gentle sufficient to call your usually used practitioner approximately something and any time!!! i'm particular he would be effective in day after today or so, interior the intervening time in case you think of it sounds worse or not getting greater effective use your ultimate motherly instincts to confirm if he needs to flow to the clinical institution or in case you will possibly desire to call the usually used practitioner. there isn't any injury in being greater careful while it includes your little toddler. in the adventure that your usually used practitioner did not time table a verify-up i might recommend it, they might hear so a lot greater with the stethoscope than we are in a position to with our bare ears.

It varies from child to child. If he is healthy other than this it may take a few weeks to a month to get over that cough.
The only things you can do is prop something under the mattress so his head is laying a little more up rather than down.
Get a humidifer. It will help put some moistness in the air and help him to breathe easier. There really isn't much you can do, but allow it time to pass and help him to breath easier.

Don't forget his medicine. Give him lots of fluids to drink. I'd give him a tad of robutussin (I'm not a dr...) to help break up the phlegm. Keep him sitting up like in the bouncy seat or the swing when he's not sleeping. Get him breathing deeply when you play with him.
It should be over in a week or so, but sometimes it drags on...

usually the amoxicillin clears it up in 3-4 days.
It will return several times til he outgrows it...mine did. I put a humidifier on mine..now they have all kinds of cough syrup..but don't think it's good for them...I'd give them the cough suckers..they like those and it soothes their throat.
