I need recipes for desserts, my friend just found out he was diabetic and he is taking it sorta hard, I want to show him sugar free doesn't have to be all that bad. He likes chocolate but NO FRUIT. I need ideas on sugar free desserts.

Diabetes is not as simple as no sugar.

People with diabetes have to watch their total carbohydrate intake.

Sugar free desserts are often higher in carbs than regular desserts.

You can help him by encouraging him to learn as much as he can about diabetes.

heres a big shock for you. i know i nearly freaked out when i became diabetic. i went to the stores and read every label etc. bought diabetic peanut butter etc. well let me tell you some of the best tasting jellies are less sugar then other brands and very good. if you need something sweet you can have it just not alot. you can use peanut butter and jelly sandwhich for treats also. there is also follwoing carefully what you are eating you can add and take away stuff its not as bad just stay away from fried meat and stuff grill meat out and just dont' over due you can make it

OK, here's the thing. Desserts are never sugar free. You have to count the carbs. Nobody does that anymore. It's really a great system.
Anyway, use Splenda in place of sugar. You can make cheesecakes, peanut butter pies, puddings....it works just as good and tastes fantastic.

go to the website allrecipes.com they have an amazing selection of recipes and have some great sugarfree stuff. This will also tell you the amount of carbs in the food, as im sure your friend will be counting them. Let him know its really easy to manage once you get the hang of it. it'll take some time, and that you are there for him.
