Does this mean you have diabetes and your husband or is she an adopted daughter? I am very surprised they haven't checked her before now for diabetes considering both parents have it her chances of getting it would be high.

I would get her into to see the doctor as soon as possible. They will do a blood glucose test and blood work.

Diabetes is not something to fool around with. 188 is still on the lower end of the high, but still can be dnagerous if left on it's own. Best times to check her for highs and lows are early morning before breakfast- about 30 minutes after she eats- late at night. Childrens blood sugars run diffrently that ours and can sometimes run higher than adults or lower.

What can happen if she continues to have highs and lows is she can hit a very low during the night and go into what they call a Diabetic coma or get too high and go into shock.

She needs to be checked regularly- be seen by a Diabetic doctor- be on a special diet and insulin- have her blood sugars checked several times a day- etc if she does have diabetes.

It sounds very likely that she does expecially with the thrist and drinking so much. That is a huge sign. Hang in there.

Get her to the doctor asap and tell them how critical it is and if they can get her in same day or next day.

I can't imagine why you yourself don't know the answer to this question. Obviously, with her father having it,you must know something about diabetes. Just the fact that you have the machine and took it tells me you must have reasons to believe that she might. All her symptoms are ther staring you in the face. Why haven't you called her doctor instead of relying on the best well intentioned lay person to give you the answer. everyone may mean well but you need to take her to the Doctor at once. I have been a diabetic for 30 years and anyone with the slightest knowledge of Diabetes could tell you a 188 reading is not good. Especially in a child.

She probably has type 1 diabetes, you should make an appointment with a pediatric endocrinologist to take some blood work to confirm or deny.

If she does have type 1, it is better to find out now so you can get her on the right meds and nutritional diet to keep her healthy. Diabetes causes so many problems especially when allowed to run free. Have her eyes checked every 6 months, and monitor her sugar. Also watch what she has before bed and how many sugary drinks she consumes

If she hasn't already been diagnosed and has that high of a blood sugar there is a definite possiblity that should could also have the disease. The thirst and bed wetting along with family issues are definite signs that she could have diabetes. The best thing you can do for her is get her checked out by your doctor, there are tests they can do very easily to find out what is going on with her. If its not diabetes it could still be serious and would need taken care of ASAP.

I'm a 45 year old woman and was recently diagnosed as being a borderline diabetic. My doctor prescribed some medication, but before filling it I decided to do some research on the internet which led me to the methods. After reading this ebook and applying the methods, my scepticism turned to 100% belief. I noticed that my energy levels increased significantly and I felt more rested in the morning, my symptoms started going away.

I am very happy to tell you that I have been feeling better than I have felt in years and my doctor informed me that he will be taking me off my prescriptions if I keep this up.

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

Since you tested before breakfast that is similar to a fasting blood sugar test.

A fasting blood sugar test measures the amount of sugar in your blood after you fast for at least eight hours or overnight.

What's normal?

A normal fasting blood sugar result is lower than 100 milligrams of glucose per deciliter of blood (mg/dL).

What level suggests prediabetes?

If your fasting blood sugar level is 100 mg/dL to 125 mg/dL, you have impaired fasting glucose — commonly known as prediabetes. To confirm the diagnosis, your doctor may repeat the fasting blood sugar test several days to a week later.

What level suggests type 1 or type 2 diabetes?

A fasting blood sugar level of 126 mg/dL or higher is consistent with either type 1 or type 2 diabetes when accompanied by classic signs and symptoms of diabetes — increased thirst or hunger, frequent urination, weight loss or blurred vision.

To confirm the diagnosis, your doctor may repeat the fasting blood sugar test on another day. If your test results are 126 mg/dL or higher twice in a row after at least eight hours of fasting, you may have diabetes.

If your blood sugar level is higher than 200 mg/dL and you have signs or symptoms of diabetes, you may be diagnosed with diabetes without a second test for confirmation.

Since you daughter is so close to 200 I would make a doctor's appointment immediately. Good luck.

Call her doctor if she cant be seen today then take her to the ER. being thirsty all the time and constant urination are both signs of diabetes and that is a very high reading for a 5 year old but then again had she already eaten.... I thinks its best for her to be seen ASAP.

Time to get her to the doctor for a check up.
fasting blood sugar is below 100, between 70-90 90 being good, 106 high and borderline.

you need to get her on a nutrition program and see a diabetic specialist and have blood test run asap.

good luck, stay calm,, and she will be fine.
take care of your baby.
