is it true that a failing Heart will put water in the lungs?

I have a friend who has a failing heart valves. He seems always over the years to be clearing his lungs. I am thinking it must be his heart failing and putting water in his lungs. He's in good Health but this seems worse.

You are correct, because of his failing heart valves his heart has gone weak, and is unable to pump blood to kidneys, so that water is pumped out, a condition know as CCF, he has to get a Lasix (Diuretic) + Cardanone to get his lungs cleared as water accumulates in the lungs other signs are edema of legs, body etc.
Anyway he is not in good shape.

2 types of heart failure (right-sided and left-sided).
If the LEFT side fails, it causes increased pressure (back-log) in the lungs since blood from the lungs moves straight to the heart. Increased pressure results in water being forced outside of the vessels in the lungs (interstitial fluid). Technically, its called pulmonary oedema

I think you may be right but I am not a doctor. Water in the lungs is pnemonia and can lead to death if not treated. Your friend should see a doctor-this is serious business.
