There are several medications for genital warts. Buring warts off or having them removed is the quickest way to get rid of them and a lot of people want to get rid of them ASAP and not wait for weeks for the other medications to work.

Aldara cream and Condylox cream are available with a prescription from your doctor. A person can use these creams at their convenience and at their home.

If these creams don't work or the doctor doesn't want to try them, the doctor might suggest applying medication at the office. This is done by the doctor, is done in several visits and can be pretty expensive. Some of the medications that can be used include: Podophyllin resin (Podofin), Intralesional (injected into wart lesion) interferon, Fluorouracil (Efudex, Fluoroplex), and Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) or bichloroacetic acid (BCA).

A person can also have surgery to remove genital warts by freezing (cryosurgery), burning (electrocautery), or laser treatment. Surgery is occasionally used to remove large warts that have not responded to other treatment.

Although treatments can get rid of the warts, they do not get rid of HPV, so warts can recur after treatment. The body's immune system typically clears the virus anywhere from 8 to 13 months, but it occasionally remains in the body for a lifetime.

hpv or genital warts is a common sexually transmitted disease. unlike syphilis or gonorrhea, but like herpes there is no cure. the spores from the warts are very resilient and extremely contagious. even with the use of condoms this std ac an be transmitted. i have several friends who have fallen victim to this aliment, however more people than you think are infected. in response to your other questions they can't cure all the strains of hepatitis and medicine for herpes(valtrex) only keeps the infected person from having a breakout. because hpv is not in the same classification as the clap or syph, it can't be treated the same. to my knowledge there is no cure and I'm sorry to tell you as much my sympathy to you but try to remember your feelings when you were diagnosed and don't let any one else feel that same sort of hurt. Be honest with your sexual partners. I'm sure no young person wants their prime sexual years cut short but the sort of honesty that you have the opportunity to give is the type that builds character

Genital warts can be removed by cryosurgery where they freeze them off. It's not as bad as you would think. By the getting burned off. I wouldn't recommend it or by the doctor and you applying a special gel to the infected area. The pharmaceutical companies are staying rich but prolonging illnesses and keeping people sick. Rather then heal the sick they would rather make a quick buck (millions) because people constantly need treatment which is why they "haven't found the cure for AIDS"

yes it can. but it could be something else. i got high risk hpv 3 months ago. but my paps are normal, im just carrying the virus for now. theres a 90% chance that your body will fight it off. and the better immunity you have the better. the other 10% will keep it the rest of their lives and half of them may get cervical cancer. get tested every year. its pretty normal to get hpv, 80% of people have had it once in their lives. its like chicken pox. good luck!
