For Yogurts Muller light, Cereals corn flakes, Sugar substitutes, Fizzy drinks are now being produced without sugar. A sensible diet is important as an increase of sugar means more insulin. Managing your intake allows the person to control their levels and manage the amount of insulin used. Get into the routine of checking whats in the produce ....Even some fruits are high in sugar so work out a selection of recipes or seek advice from the diabetic nurse.....

Diabetics can basically eat any food a non-diabetic person can eat with a few exceptions. Portion control and timing of meals is more important to keep blood sugar stable throughout the day. It is very important however to limit simple sugars and carbs, limit fats, caffeine, and try to totally eliminate refined sugars and carbs and alcohol intake. Actually a diabetic diet such as from a physician makes sense for almost anyone to follow, as it incorporates small but regular meals throughout the day with attention paid to how many fats, carbs, etc. are eaten. It is a healthy diet.

I'm a diabetic and I stick to low carb foods and foods that are low in the Glycemic Index list.

I'm on the South Beach Diet which is a diet full of 'good carbs'. When I stick to it my blood glucose numbers are good and so is my cholesterol.

David Mendosa has a wonderful web site that explains all this.
