It's especially hard for me when I go out (summer camps, vacations, abroad) because I tend to find myself having to remind the caterers/cafeterias/whoever serves the foods at the various camps that I attend that I am a vegetarian. At home, I am the only vegetarian of five people but It isn't hard or any different, my parents just cook the food and meat separately and then add the meat to the dishes once I've gotten what I want to eat.

Oh, I saved the 1st for yet another day! yet understanding how way leads directly to way, I doubted if I ought to ever come back. I would be telling this with a sigh someplace a protracted time and a protracted time subsequently: 2 roads diverged in a timber, and that i— I took the only much less traveled via, And that has made each and all the version. -R. Yeah sometimes. But generally people are cool about it. I have been one for around 8 years now. My family is still pretty dumb about it though. Its a big deal if I'm attending a BBQ or family outing. I tell them to chill out and I normally make something me and everyone else can enjoy. Now, the one thing that angers me is when they think vegetables on a plate is suitable. It's not its boring. Also when they hand me that plate of vegetables they say don't worry its all vegetarian. No kidding. My mom doesn't even remember that I'm vegetarian. She always makes something with dead animal and goes oh I'm sorry I forgot. 8 years now mom, how long have I been visiting you for now? But generally other than the fam nobody gives me trouble. But I don't advertise it like some preachy moron either. I do what I do and it's not for anybody else so I keep it to myself.

I have had two friends that are vegetarians. One doesn't make a big deal about it, and finds something she can eat everywhere we go. The other friend makes such a dramatic deal about being vegetarian. She can never find anything to eat, she criticizes people who aren't, so on and so on. I think when people act like her she may feel alienated because people are sick of her bs.

I hate it when my mom fixes meat and stuff for dinner and she's like "oh too bad you cant eat this its so good your really missing out" grrrrrr hate that. I also dont like it when people are like "why are you a vegetarian thats so stupid, dont you know we're carnivores" well first off I dont criticize people for eating meat even though since becoming a vegetarian I find it repulsive so I really dont appreciate that, second people aren't carnivores we're OMNIVORES definition: able to consume both animals and plants for nutrients. Vegetarians just choice only to consume the plant half for environmental, health , ect I dont see what the big problem about it is. Most of my friends have been pretty supportive of my decision and some have considered switching too.

Where I live it's hard to find a vegetarian restaurant or even a restaurant that serves anything vegetarian. Also my ex-boss where I currently work overheard me telling someone I was a vegetarian and said " Oh, you're one of those!", with a very snide attitude. I guess I just don't live in a very vegetarian friendly place!

normally, no. our family has been understanding and will willingly accomodate to our food needs without our even asking them.

only time i feel alienated is when someone will blurt it out in front of a bunch of people (food tasting at work, dinner at family's with guests, etc.). in situations like those, i get nervous and freeze because everyone's looking at me, expecting some genius answer while i just stand there and stutter, ha ha.

Nope, my wife and I are both vegetarians. I am healthier than most people I meet and she is absolutely beautiful as well as healthy. We do this together, and together we can weather anything. I'm loving it.
