I juice carrots almost every time I juice. I also like to add apples, beets, melons (such as watermelon and cantaloupe), pineapple, cucumbers, tomatoes, parsely, kale, collard greens, cabbage and strawberries. I also like to use grapefruit, oranges, lemons and limes. For flavor, you can use ginger (a 1/2" slice) and garlic.
You can pretty much use whatever combination you'd like. I really enjoy cucumber, pineapple and apple. That's refreshing. I also like carrot, cucumber, apple, ginger. The ginger is a great energizer. Garlic is good to thin and clean the blood.
The type of juicer you buy just depends on how much and how often you juice. You can spend anywhere from $60 - $200+. I personally have a Jack LaLane juicer and I have no complaints. I do juice on a regular basis and I juice quite a bit.
The juicers I've had in the past have suited their purpose, but I found that the more I enjoyed it, the more I wanted one that was bigger.
When buying, consider the following:
~Hopper size: this is the chute where the food is fed into the blades to be juiced. If you get a nice-sized hopper, you don't have to cut the fruit and veggies into such small pieces.
~Replacement parts: juicers parts can wear out, but the motor could still have a lot of life left. Check to see how easily the parts can be replaced.
~Cleaning method: the juicer must be cleaned immediately after each use. You might want to invest in one that can be put in the dishwasher and you also want to look into how easy/hard it may be to clean.
Good luck to you!

when buying a juicer it has been my experience that you do not want to go cheapie on it. by no means do you have to purchase a $500 juicer but the cheapies from target aren't good. or fun to clean. splurge a little and get a good one.
i like to juice grapefruit! MMMM yummy. i love fresh grapefruit juice- it is just the right amount of sweet and tart.
i also enjoy a combination of carrots and apples. tasty.
i enjoy pinneapple and peaches as well as straight apple juice. i truly am not a fan of home juiced orange juice- just my opinion though!
try different things and see what you like best... you never know what you can come up with!
best of luck!

Beats, carrots, parsley, green apples, and celery. It taste great and keeps you energized all day. Expensive juicers don't always mean better juice try your local big box store(wal mart) Therese usually some good inexpensive ones that you can experiment with.

I couldn't be bothered. I just buy good-quality juice. Juice is not good for you. Whole or dried fruit is better. I prefer a bowl of blueberries with vanilla and milk. Juice causes obesity, high blood sugar and diabetes.

It's easier for me to tell you which ones I don't like. I really don't like kiwis because they have a very strong taste that permeates what ever I put with them.
I love peaches, mangos, apples, bananas, strawberries, grapes, blue berries, and carrots. I really like to buy big frozen bags of fruit at Sam's Club or Costco.
