If so... what would you name a bar or club?

I think that it matters initially, and it always helps if you can shorten down the name. I don't think the name is vital though, the reputation is far more important!!
In my vicinity there are clubs called Remedies (people shorten to Rems), L2, Berties, Sailors..it's a pretty small place where i live! I personally relaly like the name Remedies for a club but i prefer L2 as a club, the name is bad but there are 2 dancefloors and the music is better.
I'd personally call a bar/club The Rhine.
I love the names chinawhites and blueandbabyblue..these are clubs in london :)

In the of the beholder...some people would go to a bar called Dirty Harry's because of the celebrity connection. In a mystery novel, I think by Martha Grimes, there is a mention of a pub called the Scurvy Ferret, I would definitely go there just to meet the people who would have the audacity to name it such.

I think what matters the most is the clientele and the atmosphere. I think fun names for bars are the excuses men give when they come home late ( sort of like the Abbott and Costello routine ) Angry Wife...Where were you until 2 AM? Husband ...I Don't Know. ( bar's name )

We stop by a few bars that have quite simple names..the one I like best is 466 .... it is on 466 Newberry Street but we did not realize why it was called that until we saw the address.....it sounds cool...want to meet at the 466 !

I would be more likely to stop off at a bar with a catchy name before I would go in somewhere called something like "Joes".
Not sure about a name...maybe "Utopia".

Yes, it matters. I have gone to places becuase of the name as I thought that I could get what I was after.

yes it matters all bars are the same (ALCOHOL)
you can make the diference whit a nice decoration in & out
and depends on the decoration is the kind of music you should play
