If it is successfully grown. Please tell me why as well. I'm just curious, and don't want to offend anyone. Thanks!

I personally would not. I think my body has changed such that I cannot eat animal flesh. I also think it's kinda creepy.

However, I do hope this technology takes off. Why?

Because if it means 100 animals enduring discomfort as opposed to 10 billion animals suffering and dying every year, that is a win.

If it means land now used for cultivating crops to feed to animals can be used to feed humans, that is a win.

If it can reduce or eliminate waste from farm animals that pollutes the groundwater and air, that is a win.

No, I wouldn't. For one thing, I've been vegetarian long enough that it's no longer just for my original reasons; it's also because the thought of it is unnatural to me any more. I asked this question once before because I'd read an article about a university student who was taking muscle cells from a living donor cow and growing them in a nutrient broth. The resulting meat isn't a byproduct of death and is leaner and healthier (no antibiotics or hormones) so I was curious how other veggies would feel. Most of the answers I got were negative, but I can see it as a potential option for people who would like to go veg for ethical reasons, but just aren't prepared to give up what they're so used to.

No it's still meat plus it's just cruel to nature in all sorts of ways ... and it's already happened and still happening ... you are a bit late on the news lol!
KFC has been doing it for about 8 to 10 years now.

I answered this in full here:

already check it out ;-)

But they literally growing meat from a petri dish was only made successfully possible in 1998 to 2001. They can't grow the whole animal *yet* they have been growing organs and a few body parts. However, these experiments are more successful on a "host" such as the rat with a human ear on it's back (no the ear doesn't function lol but it is an ear).

If you don't believe me fine, all you have to do is take the time to look all this stuff up and surf through the jargon of scientific lingo. You will find that I am tell you the truth.

Some veg*ns might eat it. It depends on their reasoning. If they're doing it for health, then probably not, but the people who do it for animal rights might. I wouldn't because in addition to animal rights, I also care about my health and feel much better being vegan than I did when I ate meat.

No! That's potentially even more unhealthy than the real thing! But I guess it just depends on why you're a vegetarian in the first place.

eech! no! that's disgusting. I don't think I'd eat that even if I did eat meat.

i hope that didn't sound mean at all- the idea of petri-food just is not that appetizing.

I asked a vegan about that a few weeks ago, and she said no. She didn't have a reason; she just felt that way.

No, because I find that quite disturbing. I wouldn't eat anything that was grown un-naturally like that.

That is just not right! :)

I do not trust anything done in the labs for food these days. I'll stick to what I can grow in my garden and get in my local farmer's markets, thank you.
