TGIF has taken their veggie burgers and veggie wraps off their menu in lieu of adding steak to everything .. I was actually taking with my niece today about this same issue and thought to myself that either their stockholders have huge investments in the cattle industry or someone made them an offer they couldn't refuse.. ( i.e. very cheap beef or both ) It is sad commentary and the waitress told my niece and her friend who both left without ordering /eating .. that they have had Many complaints from the customers and she should write to complain .. I think they will do only what helps their pockets .. and I for one am going to write them as well .. http://www.tgifridays.com/contact/contactform.cfm ..

Because people are still obsessed with thinking that low-carb diets work in the long term but don't want to eat a "plain" (i.e., no meat) dish as a main meal. A salad is basically a sandwich/main course without a bun or bread for some people, which is what a lot of people order anyway. As a waitress, I have lots of people order burgers or steak sandwiches without buns.
It's silly really. Low-carb diets are a horrible fad; unhealthy and short term.

Maybe b/c some ppl identify beef, especially steak, with indulgence. It doesn't sound very appealling, actually. Even before I became vegetarian, beef wasn't among my preferred ingredients for salad.
I wish places like TGIFridays would offer more, not fewer, vegetarian options. Don't they realize it would increase their clientele? Not to mention gratuities-- I'm probably not the only vegetarian who tips generously when I've had a great meatless meal @ a mainstream restaraunt.

are you serious with this question or you just could not think of anything constructive to ask on yahoo.answers so you came up with this about TgIFridays,it is so not worth giving you the answer that I won't,because you just said there isn't enough junk to throw on salads anyway I can imagine how you eat if that was the best you came up with.

So that meat eaters who want to lose weight are eating "healthier". But the probelm with that is, the amount of fat in a salad with dresssing and sirlion steak is abotu the same as a big mac. they should ask for it minus the meat atleast.

simply because they think that 99.9% of people eat meat, so they mainly try to satisy meat-eaters the most, more customers... it's always about the money.

because meat is delicious, if you don't want it on there request it without it, you will probably be the one customer that month to do so.
