160 even after eating is a bit high. I would stop eating at 10pm the night before and test in the morning. It will give you a good reading.
Good ranges are between around 80-120.

No, 160 is not okay, but it's not dangerous right now this very minute--it's not an emergency--but almost certainly means she has diabetes. Normal blood sugar is 100 or less. But just the number by itself doesn't tell us much. A doctor would want to know how long since she'd eaten--or was it 160 on a blood test after she'd had no food all night then had it tested early the next morning? One thing is certain: She needs treatment or if she's getting treatment she needs to be more careful of food and do everything her doctor advises. Maybe you know diabetes destroys the eyes, for one thing. It also destroys the feet. And the kidneys. And the blood vessels--all over the body eventually. That's why it affects eyes, feet, kidneys, and everything--because they all have to have blood or they start to die off and diabetes ruins the blood vessels. So I hope so much she'll do just what a doctor says. With good diabetic treatment her health can be good. Without it, her blood sugar will most likely just keep going up. Get yours checked too, be sure--if your mother has high blood sugar you'll most likely have it too, and if you don't right now, keep getting checked--and I mean all your life. This was a good question and hope this helps. -- But it's a very incomplete answer, okay? Not enough space here--for diabetes also destroys nerves in the feet, not just blood vessels in the feet, and does lots of other things to the body if the blood sugar isn't kept under control. Remember, this is only a partial answer--do ask a doctor, do not go by this answer!

yeah its ok, Its a little high, Is it after a meal?? or fasting? My dr wants mine under 110 fasting and under 140 after a meal. My mom just informed me hers was over 300, and that was fasting. If it gets that high then you can be like me and panic!!

it depends when it was tested. If after a meal it's perfectly normal. if fasting, then it's a bit high- 80to 120 is normal before a meal
