Novolog (aspart) is a rapid acting insulin. It is not taken at bedtime (unless it is to cover a bedtime snack or meal) and it does not determine morning (fasting) insulin. Novolog comes in combination with a long acting insulin. It is called Novolog Mix 70/30 and is different from Novolog 70/30. The latter is an older less consistent version. In Novolog Mix 70% is long acting and 30% is rapid acting insulin. If you are truly on Novolog and not Novolog Mix at bedtime something is not right and you should discuss this with your physician immediately. Taking Novolog at bedtime will cause hypoglycemia during the night which is not a desirable circumstance.

Since your current medication schedule is working so well, why would you want to change it ?

If you don't take your meds... your sugar will be higher.

If it is a slow insulin then it will help you in the afternoon to say level. If not then talk to your Dr to change your meds.
