Yes, if the person giving oral sex gets cold sores, even if they do not have one visibly at the time. I caught genital herpes type 1 from my boyfriend giving me oral, and he had absolutely no symptoms of a cold sore at the time, though I knew he got them. If the person receiving the oral sex also gets cold sores their risk is much lower because they already have antibodies to the virus.
Up to 40% of new genital herpes cases are caught this way, so be careful. Remember having no visible cold sore is no guarantee someone is not infectious. The virus is active about 20% of the time including time when there is no sore, tingle or other symptom. It is known as 'asymptomatic shedding' of the virus and happens to almost everyone with any form of herpes.

Yes, there isn't any. Herpes is caused by a virus. Actually, there is little cure for viruses nowadays. The only thing that you can generally do in the case of a viral infection is strengthen the immune system and hope it fights it off. Not with Herpes, the immune system can't win against it. Thus you only get to treat the symptoms. Once you're infected, it stays with you for life. So don't get infected.
Personal experience. I have had genital herpes for over 5 years.

Absolutely, I have seen several cases of cold sores spread to the genital area by oral sex. The herpes viruses, simplex and genitalis are very similar and both have a penchant for mucous membranes, where ever thay happen to be.

That's right and not only by mouth. You can also transmit it with your hands. And condoms only reduce the risk slightly.
