I need to know from any pros out there if smoke on clothes causes some or all of the same effects as breathing in second hand smoke. It is important for a child with pulmonary problems.

I tend to doubt it. I know there is supposedly new research that shows harm from so called "third-hand" smoke, but I remain unconvinced. I wouldn't worry about it.

Yes, smoke lingers on clothes for awhile. It doesn't have all the effect of second hand smoke, but if you breath it in everyday, all day, it could develop as serious as second hand smoke.

No, the smell is just a scent, second hand smoke is harmful because it is actually smoke that you are breathing in that hasn't gone through the cig's filter.

Yes it does get the smell on your clothes but you may want to hold your hand over your mouth if someone is smoking by you.

Probably not, if it is just a smell and is not burning. If the child has problems with strong odors, then maybe it will harm them, but it is just a smell.

I would have to say no. The worst it could do is make you nautious if the person is a heavy smoker.
