Polyps are little things that grow inside your nostrels, they itch and feel uncomfortable. A blocked nose is actually the little veins (blood vessels) that carry the blood swelling in your nose so it feels blocked up, when you blow your nose it gets out some of the nasty stuff but you won't be able to get rid of a blocked nose like this and sometimes blowing too hard will cause these little blood vessels to swell even more and sometimes break causing a bleeding nose.

Polyps can be removed, they are nothing to do with flu or colds.

A polyp is a growth of abnormal tissue. When you have a cold the tissues of the nasal cavity are swollen in reaction to a virus (cold bug). A polyp needs to be surgically removed. The swelling from the cold or flu virus goes away on it's own.

nasal pollyps are actual growths in the nose consisting of tissues...... when you have a blocked nose as with a flu, it's just mucus that thickens and clogs your airways.....

Also, the only way to remove a pollyp is through nasal surgery, which isn't fun at all...
