There is nothing wrong with your heart, these chest pains are due to Tension/Stress. At your age people think too much about their future or any other problem.
You can undergo an array of tests but it will further aggravate stress, and you will come out with something in heart , which might not be cause.
So relax, and be happy.
No smoking, no too much caffeine ,pills or alcohol.
Hope answered your question.

I have had the same thing at times, and I am by no means a doctor, but you possibly could just be having muscle spasms or have pulled a muscle if you've been doing a lot of lifting or that sort of thing. I would definitely go and have the cardiologist check it out, maybe have an echocardiogram and a stress test, but if everything comes out normal, it's probably some sort of pulled muscle. Anyway, I have found that the best way to deal with any potential medical problem, is not to worry about it until a doctor tells you there is something to worry about. The anxiety just adds to and compounds whatever problem there may be and does a number on your head in the mean time. Hope this helps and get to that cardiologist, if for nothing else, just to be thorough.

You could have some blockage in your arteries. Age has nothing to do with it. Cholesterol is a factor, but so is genetics, or whether or not you smoke. Your cardiologist will probably have you take a stress test, where they hook you up to an EKG monitor and hop on a treadmill. They start off slow, then increase the speed and incline, and basically just keep going until you can't go any further, but it get's your heart pumping, and that's where any abnormalties will show up. When you're just lying on a doctor's table not moving, you're relaxed and your heart isn't working too hard, so usually nothing shows up then.

I had these and they found nothing.
Then it was a sharp pin-point pain for 20 seconds, once a month. Then about 5 years later it went away one day when my ribs got bigger and made a cracking sound in the front middle while I was computer programming at work, and the worker near me could hear it. After that, I've been fine.
May be just growing pains.

Chest pains don't always imply some heart problem. Usually, that would have meant immense pain, but at the same time it's advisable to check for the possibility of some minor pathology...

Let the cardiologist do the worrying. Your physician referred you to a cardiologist because you are having a complaint (chest pain) that is beyond his scope of practice to evaluate and diagnose.
Cardiopathy (heart disease) is the first possibility to rule out. Once the cardiologist determines, via tests such as a Holter Monitor (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003877.htm), an echocardiogram (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003869.htm), stress test (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003878.htm), vascular ultrasound (http://www.nlm.nih.gov/medlineplus/ency/article/003433.htm), he/she will discuss other causes of chest pain with you.
See a good article on chest pain at:
http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/chest-pain/DS00016. This lists some common causes of chest pain that you might want to read about.
I have had chest pain for 15 years! I even have palpitations. There is no cause; I am perfectly healthy. Let your cardiologist do the worrying for you.

Based on your description, it doesn't sound cardiac-related. But it's always better to be safe than sorry.
