Why do people water plants in the evening when the plants can't photosynthesise after sun sets?

One important thing you all left out. Most plants do most of their growing when it is dark. They use the food manufactured during the daylight to grow during the night which means they also require more water.

Watering during the day when the sun is shining may cause the green foliage to burn. At least this is what we've been told, and many people still practice watering at night.

nope. it's better, because watering under heat can damage and make the plant's leaves dry and damaged. it's better. WHY? because it can help revitalize the dryness of the leaves due to over exposure to sunlight and heat.

watering should be done in the mourning, if you water in the evening your plants become more susceptible to fungal diseases.
