Solid gold ring, but broken. I want to recycle it somehow. Would a charity make use of it?

You can take it to a jeweller and get it soldered. It will not cost very much. A solid gold ring is more precious and worth more than a solid lump of gold.
Not everything given to charity goes to charity.

I am sure a charity would. Just out of curiosity, dont you have family or anyone close to you you would want to give it to? The charity has to sell it, then make use of the cash in one way or the other. I am a sucker for family heirlooms and that sort of thing and that is why I would say that, then you could donate cash to whatever charity you fancy...

Amazing... How did a solid Gold ring get broken in the 1st place? Anyway, you can put it on auction, some loaded sucker may just be crazy enough to want it. Why not?
