1. Take her to the vet, she could be sick. This dies not mean that she won't survive, with the correct treatment she'll be fine, but without it she may die or have problems for the rest of her life (like becoming blind because of the eye infection).
2. The eye problem must be solved with medication, not just wiping it. Either buy Tobrex eye drops and put one drop in her eye three times a day for a week, or better take her to the vet.
3. Does she eat properly? If yes, that is a good sign. She is tired, probably hot, and it is understandable that she is not very active. But every time you find a kitten a trip to the vet is necessary! Even if she is perfectly healthy, she will need de-worming and de-fleaing!

It sounds like the kitten has been abused and is suffering from some sort of eye infection and maybe even more. Kittens are usually very playful and cheerful but then again if she was abused then this could make her more passive. I think the best thing you can do for her is to take her to the vet for a checkup so he or she can give her antibiotics for her eyes and de-worm her and anything else that might need to be done. Good luck with the little kitty.

Hi Hun--the first thing you MUST do with this little kitten is to get her to a vet. If some kid cut her whiskers off--this is very bad for cats, her whiskers assist her in smelling, and if she cannot smell where the food is, she can't eat. Also, that thing in her eye--the kid may have done something or poked something into her eye and got it infected. This poor little kitten has been badly mis-treated/abused + depending on approx. how old she appears to be (8 wks. or under), then, yes--she's probably missing her mum also. This just makes me sick when I hear something like this---that someone can be so cruel to a poor defenseless little kitten. Please take her to your vet and have her totally checked out. And, if she is very small (could still be nursing), your vet may have you bottle feed her with mother-cat's milk until her whiskers start growing back in and she can smell the food for herself. One thing you might try is get a can or 2 of KITTEN food, and put a small amount on her front paws. She will lick it off, and watch her do this. If she seems to like it, do it again. This will start her into eating for herself--even though she'll have a hard time smelling the food, once she gets a taste of it, then she may enjoy it. But, DO get her to a vet to make sure that there was no more damage done to this poor little kitty. Bless you for taking her in, and good luck with her--hope all is well.

It is likely a ferral cat ( wild), and probably is very ill.
If you are planning on keeping the kitten, you MUST get vet care.
Human meds, and remedies dont always work on animals.
I dont know where you live, but here in NY we have something called friends of animals.
It's a certificate for low cost spaying and neutering, but also pays for the initial vet visit, lab work, and some other things.
Some vets are appreciative of people taking in strays, and will ( if you tell them it was found), give you a payment plan, and SOME free services.
Ferral cats carry many diseases, ( fiv, and leukemia), and all of theses things can be passed on to other cats.
The whiskers will grow back, but may cause the cat to be unbalanced.
Some ferral cats cannot be tamed.
After handeling the kitten, wash thoroughly, and use a seperate pan for litter, and disposable wipes on eyes.
Best is to go to vet.
Good luck

Sounds like an infection. It's a big worry when a kitten is quiet and passive. She needs to be seen by a vet. Also sounds like she has been neglected and abused which is another reason a vet needs to check her out to make sure there aren't other problems. Good luck.

I'm glad you care so much about the kitten.
It's a good idea to take her to the vet to get checked out, especially since she may still have an eye infection.
It sounds like she was neglected (and possibly abused?), so that may account for her being quiet. In time, with your love and care, I'm sure she'll start to perk up and show more interest. Keep reassuring her by talking to her softly and nicely. Get her some toys to play with.
Yes, kittens cry, but the way a kitten cries can mean different things like being happy to see you, wanting to get fed, feeling pain.

Hi sounds like she may have a touch of the cat flu. We found a little kitten in a similar way, his eyes were all glued up and he just sat and did nothing. Definately take her to the vets, she will need as much help as possible and if it is cat flu they can die quite quickly, mainly becuase they dehydrate.
Also if some idiot has cut her whiskas she may also have some balancing issues, the vet will best advise.

Take her to the vet! Everyone has said it and everyone is right. Make sure you treat her eye with something the vet suggests! Also, if she is scared of people it is likely she rarely had (good) interaction with them so I advise you place some food near you and wait for her, then slowly start stroking her to show her you are no harm. She should get use to you and hopefully she'll get happier. Buy her toys so that she can amuse herself! Also, check when she does a 'poo' because sometimes if they are under 6 weeks it can be bloody and therefore they are taken away from their parents too early (the legal time to be taken from parents to be sold is 6+weeks).

This little cat definatly needs some loving care. Take it to the vet and they should be able to give it the treatment it needs. Make posters and hang them around town because someone might have lost their cat. Good luck!

i think it has some sort of disease and it's better to stay away from such pets. u can consult a vetenary doc abt it but its better that u dont meddle with it too much coz u may get some disease. usually kittens are active. they become passive wen they have some disease.so be careful...
