The oral surgeon did not know what to think about it but said that it did not appear to anything to worry about. That was in 2005. In the summer or 2006, I went back to see him, and he again told me not to worry about it. I have little confidence in him and want to have it looked at by an MD. My question is --- Is an ENT doctor the doctor I should go to for another opinion? The ENT doctors claim to be experienced in "head and neck surgery." Should I seek an second opinion from an ENT or some other MD? If so, which MD?

ENT doctor with facio-maxillary surgery experience is better than a MD doctor. You may go to another facio-maxillary surgeon rather than a MD.
A general surgeon, ENT surgeon or a Dental surgeon can go to super specialize in Faciomaxillary surgery. It's like a separate branch.
Good luck!

It all depends on where you live. If you don't mind the travel go to the nearest University that offers dental and has a hospital, a teaching hospital. They will have every type of doctor available for you.
My daughter went to Ann Arbor Michigan, she had the best of care and the most personal they could give her and the price was right, not like a dentist.
